This page shows how I slimmed down my bold font (left) into a regular version (right)

This letter could be made symmetrical, but look at how well this version character also works as a rock when rotated 90 deg.

Bowl width was narrowed so that the bowl's width and height have a ratio of 1:1. Also, the narrower letter more closely matches common fonts, so it is more recognizable as a b this way. This improves readability.
3: Angles were changed for a symmetrical shape. This makes the shape more multipurpose. It can work as a closed eye for faces.

The curve is a unique shape in the alphabet, it doesn't end in a slant. It just doesn't look f-like unless its blocky.

- I had to make a compromise with symmetry for "Z"
- If made symmetrical, the diagonal would be 1 pixel thicker. This is actually noticible when reading. It doesn't look consistent with the rest of the letters.
- If I want the diagonal to match the scheme laid out by capital B, an even number width cannot be centered in a 27px grid.
- The result is a difference in sharpness in the top and bottom points. This is not noticible when reading.
UPDATES
2026-04-21 PROPORTIONAL-27
The space between letters was a bit too big at 4px. But I had recently increased it from 2px to 4px, so I decided to try 3px for this update. It still used the image "Dark Potion 27px Proportional 2026-01-02".
- Fonts larger than 27px square take too long to load. Thats because when it gets converted into a vector, the diagonal staircases make the shapes more complicated. I am thinking about making a 32px resolution version just for ascii art that doesn't require any vectors, just saved as pngs...
